Initially the intention of the Mission was to conduct Mandala Pooja Mahotsavam of Lord Ayyappa - the powerful deity of Hill Shrine of Sabarimala In Kerala - every year during the months of November - January. For a period of long 18 years such Mandala Poojas were conducted for 3 days during the month of December every year, concluding on the 1st Saturday of December. In between the above the number of devotees in the tiny Town ship started increasing day by day and When the enthusiasm of these Ayyappa Devotees increased, a wish to have temple for Lord Ayyappa blossomed in the minds of all and began to put their efforts towards this end. With very great efforts, a piece of land ad-measuring about 470 sq.mts could be purchased from the Govt. agency viz. CIDCO - CITY AND INDUSTRIAL DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION OF MAHARASHTRA LTD. in Sector-8 of Vashi, Navi Mumbai. |
